Dear Students,
So that you are fully prepared for the bar exam this summer, we want to make you aware of recent changes to the format of Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) questions. The MBE is a 200-question, multiple-choice test which will be administered on Wednesday, July 29.
Specifically, the National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) has announced that the following types of questions should NOT appear on the MBE this summer:
- Roman numeral or "K-type" questions (e.g., I is true, but II and III are not true);
- "None of the above" or "All of the above" answer choices;
- A series of questions relating to a single fact pattern. Now, only one question will relate to each fact pattern;
- The words "if" and "unless" in most answer choices.
Additionally, the NCBE has announced that common nouns will be used in lieu of proper nouns where practical (e.g., "a painter" instead of "Pat the Painter").
Considering the NCBE's new guidelines, it is critical that you practice with the most exam-like questions available.
BARBRI has updated each and every one of our practice MBE questions to conform to the new NCBE guidelines.
If, however, you have received questions from friends who
previously took the bar exam or questions from other bar review
providers, we urge you to carefully review them to make sure they
accurately represent the MBE questions you will see this summer.
