Hello everyone, i actually tried this posts some time ago and received no answer, maybe now that the forum has more movement i might get some advice..

I'm from argentina, and planning to take the July 2010 Bar Exam, yes, im planning a whole year ahead, mostly because my law system is quite the opposite as the saxon system used in the US, we use french law... so, everything becomes a little harder.

I've already enrolled into Bar/Bri for next year, and will be receiving the books in about one month.

Will arrive in Cali by February, so i can take the MPRE in march and prepare for the BAR in July...

I basically have 6 months over there (limit of my visa), and will start some basic reading while still in argentina.

How do you recomend i approach this exam, from now, and for those last 6 months, i'll basically have the whole day for this, for 6 months.... i reall y cannot afford to fail, all my life savings will be involved in this 6 months! jajaj

Pls, any help would be appreciated!

Thank you all

Do nothing but learn the law for now. Do MBEs. In the last two months do nothing but write under timed condition as if you are actually taking the bar exam. Remember practising is the key but you have enough time. So open the Mini Conviser and start making your outlines.

I assume you're taking the CA bar?

Since you have all this time, I think it's a waste to take BarBri. You probably could have just bought the BarBri and PMBR materials online, then got a way early start on studying, since it sounds like you want to start studying anyway. There are tons of resources online to use--you can use CA materials on this site, but I also recommend https://www.flashcardexchange.com/tag/ca which has flashcards for various state bar exams. You still also might want to buy PMBR stuff, which includes audio CDs for the MBE portion and flashcards. You should get the MPRE study guide that BarBri sells, too...I think it's called "Professional Responsibility." You can find it online, or I still have a copy of that, as well as my BarBri and PMBR stuff if you're intersted in any of it. But if you start bar exam study before you take BarBri, then the BarBri class will be pretty redundant.

MBE

The one thing I can’t emphasize enough is that the more practice MBE questions you can work through, the better. Not only will this make you feel more confident for the exam, but it will also teach you many of the quirks that the MBE tests. Be sure to not only answer the questions, but also to carefully read the explanations of the answers. Therein lies the true value.

First of all you need to relax
You are not the only one with this anxiety to take the bar and pass
but NOTHING can help you except yourself
NO. You need to memorize the rules
Barbri is perfect if you have knowledge of the american law system and you need an intensive review with concetration to the most important issues that the Bar tests
IF you did not study the extented outlines of barbri for the 6 months and memorize conviser try your best with what you have
I passed 2 year ago NY BAR and i worked very hard day and night memorazing the rules of law
2 Years late again i study for the CA bar
BOY O BOY I FORGOT ALMOST EVERYTHING
So what is my advice memorize AND time yourself for the MBE
Try to study as many as you can questions AND BUY THE PMBR CD'S
Put them to a cd player day and night
good luck
if you need some more info send me an email

1) get Strategies & Tactics for the MBE. Read thoroughly and do the questions repeatedly until you reach 70% accuracy. Then get the Finz Method book and do those questions repeatedly until you reach 70% accuracy
2) for essays & PTs write as many essays as you can & outline the answers for as many others. READ lots more essays & answers, outline the answers. The last 20 administrations of the CA bar with selected answers are posted on the calbar.ca.gov website.
3) if you need help organizing approaches to essays, Barbreakers Vols. 1&2, by jeff adachi should help guide you.

Focus on mastering the MBE subjects cold. You will get more cost benefit since the subjects are tested as essays as well. Also know Professional Responsibility thoroughly because it is repeatedly tested in almost every administration. Know the distinctions between ABA & CA rules.

Good luck!

First off all, thank you all so much for your kind answers, im sorry it took so long for me to answer your responses, i came ill on friday and just restarted office work today.

Ill take all your advice into consideration,
About barbri, its already payed and the books are on its ways, so ill do it.

Also, ill email the one of you that offered the responsability material, i've donde the online mock tests,, and done pretty well, but all help is good, so that material would be great.

I've downloaded the Ethics rules from California, (which basically i think have all the answers to PMBR and will start memorizing it..

Othe question, i read alot about Rules of Law, where can i find this general precepts?

Go to the Sample Bar Exam (all states) page of this website. The oldest threads are all about the Rules of the Law. Use them and make some of your own.

Hope this helps.

Bar Breakers by Jeff Adachi will help you with the specific writing style the bar grader want to see!! Strategies & Tactics for the MBE will give you a good start for the MBE by Kimm Walton & Steve Emmanuel will give you a good head start in the MBE world. For the Performance Test Part I recommend John Holtz perforemance test 3 day workshop!!!

Where did you find those flashcards and MicroMash? Can you please share? Thanks.

MEE is for other states not for California.

Utorrent is a file-sharing program that can be useful. Be warned that the files can be very, very large as they may include a variety of types (mp3, doc, pdfs) Good luck.

Was downloaded from an open download... ITs the same discussion as always. Latest response to this question would be, that if downloaded from the web for personnal (not commercial) use, is not punisable.
But... Who knows.
