IL: does substitution of judge by right surrender the petitioner to personal jurisdiction?

As per the question, at issue is the civil Court's claim that a Defendant, in requesting a substitution of judge (by right) subjects them to personal jurisdiction by the court. No other matters of fact were addressed in court, save for a requested continuance by both sides in the civil dispute.

I could see a SoJ for cause being substantive enough, but by right?
