I didn't take Bar/Bri or anything so I have NO CLUE how the 9 essays are scored in Illinois.  Can somebody PLEASE talk me back from the ledge a little and fill me in on how they are scored.  Somebody said something about "you'll have no problem getting the four points you need."  Four points?  Huh?

Also, it is my understanding that they don't deduct for wrong answers?  (For example, my blundering through that *#&$&!@* Admin Law question shouldn't hurt me but whatever I did manage to spit out that applied and was correct, I'll still get points for?

Help?

I would also like to know how the Illinois essays are scored. I'm from out of state, and I took the one day exam, so I'm curious to know what score one needs to pass. I'm assuming that a 132 is all that is needed, am I correct on that? Are all the essays worth the same amount of points?

Google is your friend...

"The Illinois Bar Exam is a 2 day exam. Day 1 consists of three Illinois drafted essay questions, one 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) question, and six 30-minute Multistate Essay Exam (MEE) questions and two 90-minute Multistate Performance Test (MPT) questions. Day 2 is the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE), a 200-question, multiple-choice exam."

The MBE is weighted 50%, essays are weighted 43%, and the MPT is worth 7%

It doesn't matter how the questions are scored ("no problem getting the four points you need"), just how they fit into the big picture of scoring.

I know about the 50/43/7% thing.  That is not what I want to know.  I want to know how the individual essays are scored.  Not what percentage the scores are given in the "big picture".

Does that mean each essay is worth up to 5 points?
