Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office/Michigan Department of Corrections

Position(s): Part-time Michigan Department of Corrections Project Consultant/ Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (PC APA)

Duties: This is an entry level position under the daily supervision of the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office responsible for the prosecution of non-capital offenses. Duties include taking guilty pleas in conformance with the law and court rules, conducting motions/hearings and handling other miscellaneous matters. This person will also be responsible for assembling the files and docket each day; contacting victims; collecting and maintaining data for the compilation of statistics. Consideration for full-time employment may be extended upon the completion of at least one year, satisfactory performance and a vacancy in the office.

Requirements: Graduate of an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in Michigan. Minimal courtroom experience is preferred.

Financial Info: This is a part-time position with a maximum of 29 hours per week (Monday through Friday), that pays $15.00 per hour, no benefits. A one-year commitment is required.
