Minnesota will administer the NextGen UBE starting July 2027. The Minnesota Supreme Court ordered acceptance of NextGen UBE scores at 620 or higher on an interim basis beginning July 2026, with the final passing score subject to further review. The MPRE 85 minimum is unchanged.

Minnesota will administer the NextGen UBE starting July 2027. The Minnesota Supreme Court ordered acceptance of NextGen UBE scores at 620 or higher on an interim basis beginning July 2026, with the final passing score subject to further review.

Score acceptance: will accept NextGen UBE scores of 620 or higher on an interim basis beginning July 2026 (final passing score TBD by Minnesota Supreme Court).

Cut and MPRE

Minnesota cut score: 260 (400 scale). MPRE minimum: 85.

Fee schedule

MN BLE fees for 2026: $600 timely, $200 late fee, $100 laptop fee. February 2026: October 15, 2025 (timely), December 1, 2025 (late). July 2026: March 16, 2026 (timely), May 1, 2026 (late).
